BIA Counsellor (May 2023) – Remote
Description
A Consumer insolvency practice client requires a full time BIA Counsellor with insolvency experience (Remote)
Position Summary
Performing BIA Counselling and conducting initial interviews, assessments, including calculating Surplus Income, Bankruptcy and Consumer Proposal payments. Referrals and 3rd Party Credit Issues
Remind client to visit OSB website and review modules prior to counseling session
Provide counseling to clients within the timelines identified by the OSB
Present information and provide advice to the client on budgeting, achieving financial goals, spending habits, responsible use of credit, identify non-budgetary causes of insolvency (such as gambling, substance abuse, marital difficulties, etc.)
E-file appropriate statutory counselling certificate at the end of each session and save the e-filing confirmation to the file
Remain up-to-date with the current OSR Directive on counseling
Requirements
Education:
BIA Counselor
Qualifications/Experience:
• two years minimum years of experience required
